GREAT LEAP is proud to collaborate with AKB Media to present Labor of Love—Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Delano Grape Strike
Headlining the night is the legendary Joe Bataan, the “King of Latin Soul,” known for his groundbreaking blend of Latin boogaloo, soul, and R&B. Joining him is Quetzal, a critically acclaimed ensemble whose genre-defying sound draws from Mexican folk traditions, Afro-Cuban jazz, and rock to uplift stories rooted in community and cultural resilience. Quetzal Flores from Quetzal is also a current Board member of Great Leap!
The event will be hosted by poet and activist Faith Santilla and is inspired by the powerful history of solidarity between Filipino and Mexican laborers during California’s farmworker movement of the 1960s.
This is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of heritage, resistance, and the enduring power of music to bring communities together.
