GREAT LEAP : ARTISTS : YOUNG-AE PARK
Young-Ae Park has been an Assistant Professor of Dance at Arizona State University since 1995. She also served as one of the founding faculty members of the Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance Program at Arizona State University, West from 1991 to 1995. As Artistic Director of the modern dance company, Park and Dancers, she has produced concerts both in Los Angeles and Phoenix, Arizona. Her works have been commissioned by the various modern dance companies in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Young-Ae also appeared in the television series, Fame in 1987, and several other feature films. While pursuing her Graduate studies at UCLA, she received the very first New York Spring Residency Fellowship from the School of Fine Arts, and has done an extensive analytic study on Merce Cunninghams Points In Space. She received scholarships at the Merce Cunningham Dance School and studied Biology and Dance at UC Irvine. Young-Ae has been working with Great Leap since 1987 as a choreographer and performer. |
