Garden Celebration June 1, 2002
Krishna Kaur entertains the group with a musical performance.
Nobuko and James stand and witness the blessing of the Garden.
It takes many steps for a seed to become a mature flower. You have to care for the flower feed it and so on. Once that flower becomes mature, it makes a garden look better and it fills the garden with light.

It takes a seed time and patience in order for it to mature. When I came in the program I was a seed. After lots of patience and time I became a mature flower, that makes society look better and fills society with light. I have now become a better person. Although I have made my share of mistakes in my short time of being alive, I’ve not fully matured but I’m getting there hopefully. Someday when I have kids and when I see my son like a seed waiting for him to be took under my wings I will help him grow and become a mature flower and help society look better and shine light out to the world.

Anything can grow with the proper care.
This gathering shows the growing interest in healthy food - even in an urban community such as Watts.
Great Leap artists support the growth in many ways. Gene, Young-Ae, Nobuko, Nedra, and James all contributed time and expertise.
