"To All Relations: Re-spiriting Detroit" is an amazing multi-year project. Since 2000, Great Leap has been working with many community organizations in Detroit such as the Boggs Center to Nurture Community Leadership, Detroit Summer, Matrix Theatre Company, and more. This project addresses issues of civic revitalization combined with factors of race, environment and economic deindustrialization affect inner city Detroit.

This project includes the gathering of personal stories, weaving music, movement, and theater together, culminating in performances featuring Great Leap artists, Detroit artists and community participants. Through this project, Great Leap and its partners will document the artistic process, create a new garden dance, using technology to create further nationwide dialogue that re-imagines and re-spirits a new, more democratic Detroit.

In 2002, Nobuko has developed the Harvest Dance "I Dream a Garden." Inspired by master gardener Gerald Hairston who passed away in 2001, the new Detroit Harvest Dance will be performed on August 2 at Clark Park and August 3 at Genesis Lutheran Church Community Garden. "Gerald's Griot Garden" was created by landscape architect Ashley Kyber and youth from Detroit Summer and Matrix Theatre Company.
