A Slice of Rice, Frijoles, and Greens

Music Center on Tour: Performances for kids & teens

Since 1989, Great Leap has worked with the Music Center on Tour, reaching close to 500,000 children with our Asian and multicultural performances and assemblies. Reaching youth is high on our priority list.

"A SLICE OF RICE, FRIJOLES & GREENS"
is a humorous and poignant mix of stories that give vivid insights into the Asian, Latino and African American experience. Using theater, music and dance, these artists open windows to their own world through their personal tales. Though each slice may be different, “rice, frijoles & greens” join to make a statement that entertains while enlightening, taking young audiences beyond cultural borders. Stereotypes are broken and barriers are melted with laughter in the youth version of "A Slice of Rice, Frijoles and Greens.

Dear Paulina:

You are super funny. I like when you did Spanish. You were cool. It was amazing. I loved the show you did. I liked when you did the chicken part. You made me laugh all the way to town.

"The performance was very professional, funny, and stimulating for the children as well as for the parents. I found the presentation to be creative and original in theme and in production... I’m sure your performance made a lasting impression."
