Danny Yamamoto is a drummer, keyboardist, composer, and one of the founding members of the jazz/fusion band, Hiroshima. Hiroshima has recorded nine albums and tours extensively throughout the United States and abroad.

Yamamoto grew up in the predominantly black and Asian Crenshaw district of Los Angeles, taking up the drums in high school and playing with various dance bands and jazz groups. He was a music major at UCLA, has studied with Charles DeLancey of the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra, and Freddie Gruber. Danny has also worked with the Asian American jazz group, Visions, the Los Angeles theater group, East West Players in various musical productions, and Nobuko Miyamoto.

Yamamoto has been performing with Great Leap for many years.
